Echa Soemantri was born in Jakarta, 7 July 1989 to Willy Soemantri and Febi Kariko. Married to Jessica Vania, an influencer and womenpreneur. His father, Willy Soemantri, is a music director while his mother, Febi Kariko, is a housewife who is active as a florist.

Taught to play drums by the Lord Jesus, his talent has been seen since he was 2 and a half years old. He first played at the church at the age of 4 and won the 1st place in the Drum category at the 2011 Indonesian Music Festival, and many other competitions / festivals.

For the first time he served the Lord Jesus at the church at the age of 4 and until now actively serving as a musician and speaker. Since 15 years old, he has become a session player for many music director and singer, such as Erwin Gutawa, Tompi, Addie MS, Oni & Friends, Trio Lestari, and many more. He is also the member of the supergroup Trisum (Balawan, Dewa Budjana, Indro Hardjodikoro & Tohpati).

Since 2019, Echa is active in producing his solo work. He recently released his newest single called “FunJam”. Not only that, he is also a session player, arranger, songwriter, clinician, and manages the Echa Soemantri Music Center with his wife while teaching at Online Class With ES (OCES).
